It's what were here for. Providing people are receptive and can handle a little bit of criticism from time to time, we will go that extra mile to help.

Thanks again. I have no issues with criticism. It is constructive, positive and helpful in the sense it tells me what mistakes I have been making.

I love this Jeep a lot. It hasn't failed me once in the 5 years of ownership. I recently got a scratch on my rear passenger side door from a road construction sign that fell on it as I drove past it - the first scratch on this thing. And now I am tempted to do a complete restoration - headliner, nicer seats, matte military green paint, roof rack, ladder, stainless steel exhaust and fix engine leak. I don't care on the ROI. I want to keep this thing for years.

The main thing with our XJs is maintenance. Fluids like duff fluid. TC fluid, coolant flush and fill and granny. All have their respective change interval.

I've had the best luck with the Champion copper truck plugs. I hear NGKs are good too since they're OEM, but my XJs seem to run better on the Champions. I used to have Bosch platinums back when I didn't know any better, those are terrible.

X2 on the Fram, Wix is my personal choice.

And maybe it's just me, but if I ever see 5psi on the needle, I'm shutting off the engine! Hopefully you're just having a filter problem, but from the sound of it you may have an oil pump in your near future.

Thank you all. I haven't driven the Jeep since the past two days (I have the option of working from home). Doing OBD reader on Monday, replacing oil filter and spark plugs.

Some smoke/vapor coming out of the dipstick tube (checked right after 20 minutes of highway driving) has me worried. Could be PCV system. My Jeep has had a rear main seal leak for a while too. Found these links:

I'm probably asking the obvious, but are you near an AutoZone, O'Reilly, or other major parts house? They will happily read the code for you. I had a Check Engine Light on my '96 a few months ago. Went t0 local AutoZone. Code was a misfiring #3 cyl. Put a set of plugs and wires in it and the improvement was night and day. (Previous owner had put in Autolite plugs without gapping them. The come gapped at about .050 for some Fords).

Do yourself a favor, pick up one of these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-ELM327-V2-1-OBD2-II-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Car-Auto-Interface-Scanner-LO-/161746257986?hash=item25a8d40842&item=161746257986&vxp=mtr
And then download this app to go with it

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...l.torque&hl=en

There you go, for less than 20 bucks you have your own reader.
