Im looking for a recepie for building a stroked 4.0 to 4.7 that will handle 12-15psi of boost.
What would be the strongest most reliable pistons, connectiong rods and crank I could use for a boosted 2-door XJ running around 12-15psi on a daily driver/weekend warrior rig?
Thanks
Jeff

my forged pistons are ICON and im not sure about my forged rods. bump the comression and use high octane. i have a custom comp cams extreme offroad high lift cam. port the head, do not polish. thats my 4.7.
Look at jeepstrokers.com, the engines have kind of a hard time with ping NA, that much boost you are gonna want to go on the low end of the CR. Definately will have to go with some type of piggyback/ stand alone fuel mgt. system.
12-15 lbs is pretty high for a daily driver. If you run lower boost it will cost less and in most cases be more reliable. Try like 5-7 lbs. as far as components idk much about 4.0 internals, but I have a good background on VWs and believe me, the higher you go with boost the higher the money goes and the lower the reliability goes.
