1996 has 8.25 axle and D30 without the disconnect.
1989 has D35 and D30
Question, will the brakes be the same? no ABS.
Engine sounds like a piece of cake for fit.
Will the 1996 water pump be able to be used in the 1989? All other accessories are new in the 1989. and,
Will the A/C bypass pulley in the 1989 work to eliminate the A/C on the 1996 engine?
Brakes will fit and work. Leave them on the axles.
Water pumps same.
Not sure on the bypass pulley.

That is good news on the water pump. 1996 is fairly new.

I will have to look closer on the a/c bypass pulley. I'm sure it will not be an issue.

The D30 axles, if they use all the same brakes I would like to swap. 1989 has all new parts.
worried all the new stuff on the D35 will not work on the 8.25 is all.

Thank you Cruiser for all your past and future insights in making old jeeps work better than new.
