Based on your story, you will definitely want to stick with 33s.
With the RC 6.5 lift even 33s will rub when flexing offroad or even when you have people in the back on the road. What the guys have told you about re-gearing is true. Even with 33s your Jeep is going to feel like an anemic hunk of crap compared to what you are used to with the smaller tires. To get your stock performance back with 33 inch tires, you will need to re-gear to 4.56. So, if you get 35s not only will your performance be even worse than with 33s but, even after installing your 6.5 inch lift kit, you will also be trimming the fenders to make your tires stop rubbing.....and you would need 4.88 gears to get your power curve back with 35s. I think you would also be rolling the dice every time you took your Jeep off road and 4wheeled it with 35s, stock gears and a 27 spline 8.25.
Unfortunately you have to get at least 33s because 32s would look dumb with your 6.5 inch lift you've already paid for. I had 32s when I bought my BB and went up to 6 inches and it looked stupid until I was able to afford my 33s

sounds like 33s are the way i should go. thats what i figured but i was hopein i could get away wit bigger. my fenders are already trimmed cause i ran 31s stock before i put on my first 3in lift.
i am happy with the lift so far. when i put it on everything that could go wrong did and it took me 2 days and 2 evenings to get everything back together. it rides fine and looks good. i hope the 33s finish it off well. i hope gears are comin soon but i gotta see what money allows.
