34s on a stock XJ:
To the OP:
No matter how much you trim, the tires may fit but you can't turn for shi$ unless you have some deep backspaced wheels. The tires will hit the control arms when turning, and the tires being LTB's, you'll be ripping off chunks of side lugs doing that, or it will just slow you down to a stop.
Oh man...the sound of ltb's rubbing on your arms when turning is...priceless.
you cannot do it on stock rims but if you get rims with the right backspacing it can def be done. stock axles with ome 2 inch lift springs and a rustys rear aal. 35x12.5 on 15x10

I would save up and get a full suspension kit prolly 4.5" or bigger if you want. 4.5" would be ok with trimming. Rough Country makes a really good 4.5" kit. I had one I sold about 2 weeks ago cause I went 6.5". 34" on a cherokee are hard to find but they look awesome. I would save up and lift it right
same jeep with 4.5?? and 36x14.5

sorry for the pic whoring but large tires can be done on a little bit of lift. my roofline is about even with my moms minivan yet i am running 36's
make these tires fit, you wont regret it.

I'm at 2.5", and serioulsy considering 35's.
33's look small on my rig, there is definately room for 34's, and I think room for 35's.
I think newbie should do it... if push comes to shove, a shackle and spacer lift is not going to kill the credit card.

suspension is the same
the wheel wells are the same size
they still have the pinch welds you can't go past.
If you are into cutting HIGH and rewelding your wheel arches then it may be a little easier to open em up a bit more, but that's about it.

I rock 34x10.5s and 33/12.5s under my rustys 3 inch kit and it works out fine. You cant be afraid to trim with an XJ just do it right and it will llook fine.

KTM .... I recall the wells being bigger (slightly longer) on the 2 doors. This is from my own working experience on them ..... I'm sure it's posted somewhere on NAXJA or some other XJ specific board. But I'm too lazy to look. Every extra bit counts.
I didn't forget the pinch seams either.

And I should hope the suspension is the same ... I sell and work on enough of them.
