What brand and what kit would you get? Slot of dailly driving, beach driving, and muddy trails.

I would just get spacers for the front and shackles for the rear if you don't plan on anything to hard core. Would need shocks also.

You can get the 3" Rough Country for less than $300 w/shocks and it works fine. Lots of guys running them. The white one under "my photos" has the 3" on it. We're pretty happy with it.

Um 1. I thought I was doing it right by buying a kit.
And 2. What would you suggest

a crappy lift kit is just that. crap.

an AAL will sag over time and ride crappy.

granted my friend just put the cheapo kit youre looking at on his g/f's XJ... but it rides like a truck. my jeep is more comfortable to ride in than my DD (lowered, bilstein struts and eibach springs..) and is great on the trails too. i can blast down washed out trails at speed and not spill my monster haha.

just sayin since i went cheap 4 years ago (damn its been a while...)back when i got my rustys 3" with a full pack for 400 shipped! prices are up a tad now.

now everything rustys except the leaves are gone (but i did just add another leaf to them bc they were sagging and not strong enough after almost 40k miles) and the money (and time) i spent replacing is more than if i just bought a rubicon express 3.5" kit in the first place.

just my opinion
