the passenger rear speaker is the only one that works in my xj. its a 01 with the rear sound bar.

im gonna rewire the speakers, but i wanna know the easiest way to get to the wires.

what do i have to take apart in my jeep to get to where the wires are running in the rear bar

check the wires in the front door boots, probably pinched and cut.

I just fixed mine a few months ago. The wiring going through the boot in the front doors has a wiring splice for a tweeter right in the rubber boot and it fails from the door opening and closing. I guess they use the same wiring harness on all of them. I didnt know there was a factory option for tweeters in the door( separate from the bigger door speaker down at the bottom). I spliced in a new wire before the door boot and pulled it through to the bottom speaker and eliminated the tweeter option all together. Really bad place for a splice.

Ok but what about the wires to the rear speakers? Where do the run and how do I get to them?

check the connection at the rear speaker itself first. Switch the left rear with the right rear, see if the problem is the speaker. Those wires do not usually fail.

In the right rear, remove the panel by the right wheel well.(5or6 screws I believe). There is a connection assembly there for the rear speakers(2 wire connector if I remember correctly.
