Default 3" lift question??

hey guys.... im trying to decide between a 3" ROUGH COUNTRY add a leaf lift with shocks thats going for 255.95

and a 3.5" TUFF COUNTRY lift with rear lift blocks n front springs.... but with the shocks is like 489.99 .... so big price difference... im really tight on money so im leaning twoards the rough country with shocks for 255..... but that doesnt include a transfer case drop kit and the more expensive 3.5 does...........

so my real question is, taking into consideration im below the poverty level lol wich lift would be better..... do u think a transfer case drop would be neccisarry for a 3 inch lift? if i went without it would there be alot of vibrations? cuz the 200$ difference is a big one to me =]

im new at this offroad stuff and just bought my first jeep so sorry if im askin a stupid qestion

thanks again... below are the options im lookin at..... if anybody knows where i can get a better deal on something 3" + it would be awesome

3.5"....

I'm going to go to the link below to get mine. I know the aal is a rougher ride and sags quickly but by spring I'll get the leaf pack and be all good with it. $200 beats $255 in my book

DO NOT USE BLOCKS- THEY ARE CRAP!!!!!
Go with the rough country, cheap and you can put some 31's or bigger with some trimming and hit the trails. Good luck

x2 on the Rough Country lift and buy from them directly. Give them a call and order over the phone. They have a great warranty with great customer service. About the transfer case drop. some need them and some don't. install the lift and if you need one call up rough country and order one. I think it's only $30 or so.

my 89 has a 3" on it, including the blocks and no tcase drop. I havent got it above 55 yet, but no vibrations so far... I guess Ill find out when I finally get it legal and am able to drive it farther than just down the road (lots of cops around)..

is this bolt on system? is there any cutting/grinding?

i am looking at installing a 3" lift, something straight forward install.

what about this transfer case drop?
do you need to have the front end re-aligned?
what, if any surprises are in store? diff angles?

I put in Zone Off Roads 3.5" aal system 2 months ago. The kit included all four shocks and took me just over 4 hours total to install by myself. The rear started out about 1' higher than the front but now rides just right. For a complete kit at less than $300 I felt it was the way to go. I'm still impressed!

the kit is absolutely bolt on, not cutting required. UNLESS, your leaf spring bolts are frozen or wont come out, and theres plenty of threads on that. a 3" lift is almost as straight forward as lifts come, all you should need to do for this is front coil springs, rear leaf springs, shocks, and generally a steering stabilizer, nothing else is required but some like to do trac bars and what not. and a 3" you shouldnt need a TC drop or any other mods of that kind. end yes you need an alignment.

BTW, I did have to make a TC drop. Had bad vibes at anything over 45 mph. I just used left over 1 inch lugnut spacers from my dragster with bolts from ACE hardware. Solved the problem in 20 minutes and cost me $4.

Call R/C and ask for ryan he is real helpful and dont be afraid to ask him to do better on the price he always will I have run there 3" lift for years and holds up good and real easy to install.
But just remeber all AAL's will sag so you will have to improvise in the future. I now have a block in for some time with no issues but I also bumped up to 4" I dont wheel as much I would like to anymore but when I do the block does not give me any issues.

Also Make sure you get a trackbar relocation bracket or your front end will sit off center In my case I did not need the transfer drop when I first put the 3" nor did I get any Vibes when I bumped to 4".
