Default 3" lift

some 3" kits come with new lower control arms & some don't. Are they needed? Also does the transfer case have to be lowered with a 3' lift? Thanks Frank

I would tend to agree with Country, BUT................

after I installed my Rubicon Express Superflex 3", I had a very noticeable driveline vibration. I went back and dropped the T-case, using some 1" round tube stock "shims". No more driveline vibes. Can't argue with success!

One thing I did notice is that the aftermarket lower arms are slightly more stout than the OEM arms. I guess it depends on how you intend to use your Jeep. I do recommend that you replace your stock rubber bushings on those arms, with poly bushings. Energy Suspensions makes some good, high quality replacements, and I replaced most of the rubber on my 97. I suggest that if you plan to replace engine and/or trans mounts, stick with the rubber. I don't think you would like the results of poly mounts there.

Hope this helps with your decision.
Bob

From what I've been reading it seems the newer model xj's run into more problems with the higher lifts. What year is yours?

my pro comp 3" lift came with new LCA's, and they are quite beefy. they are also a tad bit longer than stock, so it relocated my axle forward a bit, because lifting the truck tends to pull the axle in towards the truck.

my 94' didn't have any vibes, but like noted, newer models tend to have vibes more often.

You should be fine then without c.arms then unless yours need replacing anyway. From what I've read a lift only adds stress to parts that are already on there way out

might as well just get the control arms, get adjustable ones so when you go higher you wont need new ones
