Default 3 inch lift and rubbing with 31s

I recently put a 3 inch RC lift on my XJ and put 31x10.5x15 on and every time i turn and or have people in the jeep they rub on the control arms and front bumper endcaps. any suggestions? if possible I dont want to take off the bumper endcaps.
And in doing the lift and tires is there anything else you suggest to do to make it a better ride?

They rub on the endcaps? Wow. That must be a pain in the rear. Is it the AaL kit and what type of tires on are there?

Trim the endcaps with a knife.(not much is required for 31's)
I bet you have stock wheels with 5.25 backspacing don't you.
Spacers or wheels with less backspacing will fix.

Had the same problem with my 3". I trimmed the front (barely noticeable but it worked for driving around) and dealt with the rubbing for a while until i got tubular arms and then wheel spacers.

yeah trim the plastic on the bumper. You can also adjust the steering stop at the nuckle, to prevent the rub on the arms

not really there are some cheap ones out there that will break or not last long as long as you stick with name brand like spidertrax you will be good but the price is the same as just getting some new steel wheels unless you don't like the steel wheels

^^x2. Most spacers I've seen are expensive. About as much as a set of wheels.

One dude in one of the companies I buy wheel spacers from used to work for spidertrax. He said the only difference between the ebay spacers and spidertrax is powdercoating. Both are nearly identical. They will be fine if you off road. The key is to keep em torqued properly and everything will be fine. I ran spacers three times on three different vehicles and never had any issues and I beat them all to hell. My first set were 2" spacers on my dodge dakota. Worked fine

I needed 1" to clear my 31's from hitting the arms and for $120 shipped I got four spacers. Cheaper than wheels and did the job.

Try spidertrax if you are rich, or CJbargins on ebay if you are not.

i had the same problem when i lifted my 97, tires rubbed on the control arms, I bought new rims with a centered spacing. fixed my problem. also shaved the inside of the end caps and unscrewed them and pulled them forward. they have a little bit of adjustment ability. but the only problem with spacers is you might be more prone to break lugs, by making the lugs have to span longer you increase the force that they see.
