Slow down and clarify what you're asking .. That could be taken 3 different ways. What are you asking?

I think you are asking if you should do a swap in order to change gear ratio. With that 55spd, I doubt a gear swap will ever be necessary...

Default Swap Them!

If you have 3.07 gears in yours like I did. Yes, you would be very happy with 3.73 gears. I did the same thing except my donor had 3.55 gears. What a difference they made. I also gained a Chrysler 8.25 over the Dana 35. This is buying some time for me to afford to re-gear and do a locker in the future.

It is really worth it if you get the axle on the cheap. Mine came out of my sons' old XJ that we decided to part out. So I have very little money out of pocket for swap.

Ok so I have a 90 xj with 5spd and prolly stock 3.07 gears not sure and I put 5 inch lift with 32's and then I bought a 92 xj for the power option like doors and overhead console and it's an automatic then I realized that's it has the factory hitch which prolly means it has the tow package and should have 3.73 gears would it be worth swapping the axles from the 92 into my 90 xj

if it has an 8.25 and HP Dana 30 it's definitely worth it

I think they're definitely worth swapping. Even if it had 3.55s it would be worth it.

yep, after 91 the Vaccum disconnect is gone. You'll need to wire it in then.
