and there's numbers stamped on the ring gear. take the larger divided by the smaller and you'll get your equation.


now...why do you want to know this about the ring gear?
depends how he's measuring... you have to measure inside diameter outside it will measure bigger

post a pic of the diff so we can ID it for you.....but yea divide #ring gear teeth/ # pinion gear teeth......that is a fail proof way to tell your gear ratio

I have a police edition dana 35 with 10inch brakes and 3.55s not sure what year its from tho. 10 inch drums were the hd option. Also check ur front axle, does it have a tag? The gears will be the same...
