hi im planning on buying a 2in lift from rustys but im trying to decide which is better 2in spring and 2 add leaf or a 2 shakle with brand new shocks and with the lift kit i want to buy bushwacker flat fender how much of the fender would i have to cut and how much more clearance will i get over stock
4.5 inches of tire coverage in the front and 3.5 inches in the rear; enough clearance for 33-inch tires on stock suspension with no steering rub

id go with the shackles because when you decide to go higher which we all do sooner or latter you can reuse them savin money on the next stage of lift
good call.. cant go wrong with a full sus upgrade! i hope by spring i can afford one... im lookin at 3.5".. nothin to wild, but i would like to get some 31's in there w/o too much rubbin and scrubbin

i dont think im every gonna rise my xj much more just becuase this is my daily driver im just trying to build a jeep that can do anything pretty much that why i want the bushwackers for clearance... what would have better performance shackles or leaf spring or which has better benifits i dont really kno much about the suspension

the leafs are what keep the tires in contact withthe ground. doing a leaf upgrade will give you (essentially) better preformance. the shakles are cheaper and easier, but you retain all the current qualities of the leafs.
