Default 265/70R17

Whats up guys.. My original plan for my 89 was a 3" lift on 31x10.5 15's(cragar soft 8s). BUT, I just got a set of 265/70R17 Cooper Discover STT for free. They have more than half tread life left. A customer at work replaced them on his ram 3500 because they were noisey. Anywho, i was on summit and see they they sell soft 8's in a 17", which is good! My question is, these tires are Load Range E. Will they be too heavy for the jeep? Also, will I need more than 3" lift? i see that its a little bit taller/wider than a 31x10.5..... Oh and if anybody has Pics of a Cherokee on this size tire, please post! Thanks!

Go to TireRack.com, enter tire size, go to 'specs' and find the weight by size of almost any tire plus other good info.
