Question for those of you who have done a 242 transfer case rebuild...the needle bearing on the input shaft (not the one that supports the input shaft in the case but the one that supports the main shaft in the input shaft...how did you guess how far the bearing needs pressed in? Did you just eyeball it? I heard if you push it too far or not far enough then the transfer case either won't mate to the transmission properly or the end of the main shaft will not be supported properly.
