I have had several sets of Grabber ATs, and had decided that I wont go with them again. Here's why:

  1. Not good in rain. Pretty bad, actually.
  2. Not good in slush on roads. They want to grab every per-existing tire track, and aggressively so. It can really throw you around.

In virgin snow, they are good, but out on the road behind other people, not good.

Just get the SR-A, you'll be fine. They've been on my truck since new, they do 10" snow, rain all day long and it looks like they'll be good for at least another 20k miles.

the sr a is a totally differrent tire haha....but they do come standard on quite a bit of vehicles. Theyll crack and dry out before you wear them out, but thats pretty standard for goodyear now. My gramps has them on all 3 of my grandparents vehicles bevause they were the oem tire

In the end the driver has a much greater influence on vehicle handling than tires.

Hmmmm. I don't disagree.... I think.....

But your statement makes it sound like tires don't matter much, and that's not even close to being true.

For the same driver, different tires make a big difference.

I have had tires that were horrible on a vehicle, and made it very hard to drive safely. They went back to the shop the same day and got it replaced.

I have had middle of the road tires, and I have had excellent tires. There is a big difference.

If you are saying that great tires won't make a lousy driver a good driver, I agree. If you are saying that a good driver can handle lousy tires, I agree.

But tires DO make a big difference. The better the driver, the more he knows the difference.
