I have read that this is the largest tire that can be run without any kind of lift on a stock XJ. Is this true? and anyone running this size on theyre stock suspension?

Thanks.

These are General Grabber AT2's with stock suspension. No problems at all I but wouldn't go larger.

I am running 235/70/15 on stock suspension on 2wd Classic. Front tires will rub inside fender on extremely tight turn (wheel turned all the way left or right). Since that will never happen while driving at regular speeds it is a non factor.

I've been running the same on my 97 for two years. No problems. I have run 235s on my 94 for 4 or 5 years. No problems.

Ya, they'll fit just fine. You'll likely notice a slight loss in acceleration, but still totally drivable. My 92 Laredo pre-lift/wheel change;

I never experienced any rubbing at all.

I just think these do great without to many MODS. The XJ was a stepchild for years. Even though it was one of the better ones. and I have had almost every model over the years. With a 96 ZJ with the 5.9 qudratrack being one of the best actual 4x4 of them all. kept it for 13 years and it went through every kid. And still ran with 275K on it when sold. So a good 4x4 with actual decent ride. My funest one was my 69 Commando. with the 225 ODD Fire V6. NO RUST . Hard top. that would run 70 all day long. Faster than I needed . And the one I should have kept. The CJ5s and CJ7s beat me to death and rusted like crazy. I bought the 85 XJ and then the wife had to have one hence the 99 XJ now. But the 87 MJ truck is the one I am looking forward to.

I run 235/75-15 General Grabber AT2s on mine with zero issues. The speedometer is dead nuts on with the GPS, which is good. No rubbing at full lock either.

I used 235/70/15 Cooper Discoverer LT for a long period they touched the inner wall with the axel at full lock, on either side.

But knowing that. Just take care of not locking the steering.

The some crazy dude offered a crazy amount of money for my OEM aluminum rims and tires... Did the business and imported from USA a Liberty 5 OEM rim set from a wrecked one with 2000 miles... Without tires.

Mounted them with 235/60/16 Firestone Destination, some profit was made as well....lol. But the Jeep handles just perfect, ( still touches the inner wall ). And no big difference on the speedometer....

Regards from Costa Rica's best lookin stock Xj...

I have 235/75/15 Courser AXTs on mine and im stock. No rubbing or anything at all.

I had 245/75/16s on there for a while out of necessity but those rubbed if i had weight in the back or went over bumps. looked really odd too.
