So after buying new pads, rotors, and shoes I'm ready to work. I get the higher end stuff from autozone and I tear apart the jeep. Rotos and pads first, easy. Drums.... I hate em, I get my left side off and then, yes after tearing it down, I then notice my new pads are 3/4 inches skinnier and are a bit longer. I look puzzled, put it in the drum, no way in he'll it's fitting. Well end result. I have 2001 brake shoes, on my c8.25. I searched napa, az, and advance and they all say 99s should have the skinny ones, and that mine are 2001. Anyone else ran into this?

well first off the autobone around here is useless and second you are sure you got 8.25 rear? and the only other thing i've seen is on some vehicles gvw's can affect brakes and tow packages

There are two different drum diameters. On the Autozone (and others) website for a '99 they list 2 drums. Standard 9" inside diam. & police package 10" inside diam.
