My jeep has been using coolant. It was not leaking and I've replaced all the cooling system except the radiator. It has never run hot on me, but I am the third owner. Bought it with 53,000 miles and it now has 85,000.The oil was never milky. I sent an oil sample to Blackstone Labs and they found a small amount of coolant in it. I ordered a head from Clearwater and had a shop install it. I have driven 200 miles and not one drop of coolant is missing. I hated to spend $1400.00 on it but I plan to keep it for several more years. Also for your information the new Clearwater casting has the number 0331 cast into it just like the old one so I'm not sure how your suppose to know that this is the new head.

 

could it be that you bought a reconditioned 0331 head? They should not be using the same # if it's a new cast.
