Default 2001 cherokee sport keeps misfiring

I have a 01 sport, last week on the way to driving my daughter to school it started idling super rough and then went into limp mode. I turned around and made it to a block away from my house before it stopped accelerating completely and stalled. I checked the OBD codes and had a p0123 p0300 p0301 p0305 p0306. I replaced the ignition coil pack in hopes that would solve the problem. It improved slightly but was still not driveable. Today I put it in the shop and he said all was fixed supposedly by cleaning the fuel injectors except the 306 because it was too weak at 105 compression I was told by the mechanic. The other codes were gone and it ran fine for a few blocks then it all started again but without limp mode.Codes are back with p0300 p0303 and p0306. Any one have this same issue?

I forgot to mention the check engine light flashes while driving but is solid while idling.

Definitely not fixed by cleaning the fuel injectors. As you now know.

One dirty fuel injector, causing a misfire on a cylinder..maybe. All of them dirty at the same time, all of a sudden? Never.

So there is a general firing problem with the motor, and you will either have to take it a mechanic who is willing to actually diagnose the cause, or you will have to get good at diagnosing it yourself. It will most likely be caused by one of the following:

1. A failure to spark on multiple cylinders
2. A failure of fuel delivery on multiple cylinders
3. A failure to develop compression on multiple cylinders
4. A failure to get air into multiple cylinders

I'm not saying its quick and easy, but this is day-in/day-out type stuff for a decent mechanic.

Do you have the tools to test these things for yourself? Interested in doing it? If you don't have a suite of diagnostic tools, perhaps this isn't the job to start on. But if you are interested, let us know, I'm sure some good advice can be given.

If I had to pick just one of these things to try first, I suppose I would test the fuel pressure first.

Also, can you confirm that there were no major over-heating incidents before this started?

No over heating at all. And sadly the only tool I have to my disposal is my obd2 reader.

If you had a DMM you could confirm function of the TPS, clear the codes and see what comes back. Without any diagnostic tools on your end we can't be of much help.
