I'm changing the RMS on my 2000 XJ. After getting the bearing cap off I was confused as to why the lower seal half is identical to the upper half? Every write up looked at showed tabs on the lower seal half that fit into the bearing cap but mine is different And the seal I have won't work.. Can someone school on why this seal is different? Can I just cut the tabs off of the lower seal have and install? Also where would I silicon the seal without the tabs?
After some more research I've found that their are two different seals used and I need the later style.
