2000 XJ Dies with no warning HELP!!
So my 2000 XJ keeps Dieing with no warning. Other than that it runs perfect.
Always when it is idling.
Does need a new clock spring though.
Any ideas of what my issue is?

Testing of the crank sensor is often inconclusive.
Where did you buy your crank sensor? I buy plenty of aftermarket products, but I buy my crank sensors ONLY from Jeep (either bricks and mortar or online). Some of the aftermarket sensors test good electrically, but because this is a hall effect sensor, spacing is critically important and that is where many aftermarket crank sensors FAIL.
Here is a good source for online MOPAR parts. Bought a crank sensor for my 99 for about $50 a few months ago.

No accel unless you mash the gas sounds like a cat backup, a bad one. but if its bad enough to cause a choked motor, its really bad...its odd becuase you say it starts back up fine after it dies....hard to say, cps is possible but then again that would cause an issue while driving as well as at idle. id check your exhaust pressure as stated above, check the cps electrically just for kicks and gigs, its rather inconclusive but also odds are if your getting .5v at crank (or whatever voltage they want) its not the culprit. i agree with the exhaust idea most extensively at this point

My cear never actually dies though. It acts like it will but eventually it kicks itself back up but the process repeats. A quick restart always fixes it though if Im stopped. I know my exhaust isnt not plugged up because this has always happened to me since the day I first bought it and since then I ripped off the exhaust from the cat back because it was all rusted and leaking in about 4 spots. I am ordering the pro curve this weekend actually.
