When searching the VIN it says "police". What does this mean other than the obvious?

 

Which could be pretty cool.
For instance is there a rubber floor and not carpet in the XJ?
Do you have an Ext Idle switch?
Might have tow hooks and skid plates too.

That site does not say anything about "police" Mr. Todd. I will be picking it up tomorrow after work and let you all know what it is. I know it has side molding which I did not think came with the police version. Yet to look at front/rear drive axles or brakes.

 

Looks like a regular ole' Jeep Cherokee

 

plugging the vin into that website will tell you, in a .pdf, the options it came with. I’m just curious if it matches what you find.

Todd it pretty much matches what I have, It is not a police model like 2 other VIN searches said, speedo only 110, floor shifter, no idle increase button, it has a fog light button there, carpet in rear, side molding and so on. Just a jeep Cherokee.

Now to the chrysler 8.25 rear differential,,,,27 or 29 spline. i believe the later models had 29 right???
