Default 2000 jeep cherokee only starts when jumped.

my jeep only starts when jumped, but it runs fine once its going. it was completely dead so i had it jumped the other day then drove it for about 45 minutes, got home turned it off and it started right back up, then i went out the next morning and wouldnt start, no clicking no interior lights on, nothing. the battery is less than a year old

I would start by having the battery tested then check that all of your posts, cables and grounds are clean and tight.

Just curious, what brand of battery?

Yup, a parasitic draw is for sure a suspect.

But I always start with the battery itself. Even if it's only a year old. I've seen many a newer battery fail. It happens more than you would think.

Any parts store can perform a "load test" on your battery for no charge. Load testing is the only accurate way of determining the condition of the battery. Voltage testing in and by itself is not conclusive.
