At wits end, I have been working over 8 hours just today. The power lock mechanism was whining (like me) so I took it apart & found the gear inside was striped. So I put it back together so I could go to the dealer to get a new one without the door swinging open as I drove. Got the new one home attempted to open the door & it is like it is frozen shut. The door will not open at all, I have the new one & looked at how it was to work & pulled on the rods & it will not open. Now I tried going at it from the other direction & tried to get into where the mechanism locks onto the body& you cant get anything in there to push the lever back to release it.

when you find out garry let me know what you did cause im gonna give it another shot tommorow . I pulled my hair out and cant figure out why you cant manually open the door threw the door panel. I pulled on the levers, figured out the child lock and which way it was supposed to be, and manually unlock the door and still nothing. i wish i would have just unplugged the noise and delt with locking the door manually, anyway ill let you know if i can figure it out and you do the same if you dont mind
