Allright guys i have been lookin around for a decent used cherokee the thing is my mom (gonna be my first car) wants to buy it from a dealership so through my research i have found that the dealerships hop up the prices. I recently found this vehicle at a honda dealership near my house. I was wondering what you all thought maybe im missing something.
BTW-The KBB on this was around 6300$.

Looks like a clean Cherokee, and the price is reasonable. Like you said, you'd probably be able to find something similar for much less on the private market. I'd say between $4500 and $5000. If I were you, and you're going to get it from a dealer, I'd pull the "Well, with gas prices what they are..." card and see if you can get them to come down some more. And if possible, pay with cash. Every car I've ever owned was purchased with cash - something about waving that green stuff right in front of their face that they just can't say no to.

Tell your mom Craigslist is your friend. Dealerships are good if you dont want to go through the hassle of any paperwork and they have people find you a loan. But that is about it. That is a NICE jeep though. but you could get it for 4500 from a private owner.

I would do as True suggested and flash the cash and say "Look the Jeeps are notorious gas hogs and with todays gas being over $4 then you may want to consider how long you want this Jeep to sit on your inventory list. Here is $4700 and if you accept that then we will take it now, but if you want to haggle some more we will look around some."
I bet you drive that Cherokee off their lot.

As Kyle says there are lots of Cherokees out there so take your time and you will find the right one, or it will find you. As you said you are only 15 so you got a little time yet. Just keep us up to date on your search. Good Luck!
