Ok...I disconnected the battery, and it cleared the code that was present, but my reader still won't communicate.
I also did that throttle cable adjustment that 96_xj recommended. I did notice a noticeable change in my shift points, which was nice. ...But the problem with the truck not accelerating when kicked down into the passing gear is still the same.

Ok...So I have had success.
I went to the tranny shop this morning, and got the tranny flushed, new filter, new fluid, adjusted etc. I also had the rear diff serviced while I was there on the side.
This didn't fix my problem. The transmission guy was sure that it was a plugged catalytic converter or a blockage in the exhaust somewhere, so I disconnected the exhaust from the manifold to check that out. Nope didn't fix my problem either.
So I popped into the dealer. And asked them to clear and re-flash my TCM. VOILAH!! Problem solved.
What a pain in the ***. We determined that this happened a couple weeks ago, I had given a friend with a dead battery a boost and must have caused a power surge some how, this caused the TCM to have some corruption. The tech at the dealer said he has seen it before so he didn't seem surprised.
At any rate, my truck now accelerates like a champ.
Case closed.

Good to see you got yours sorted out.
What a difference with the kick down cable. This is my first auto cherokee and i've been having to use the shifter or mash the pedal to get it moving. I just did this in 10 seconds in the dark... It's night and day and I only took it to a local hill. I can't wait to get it on the highway tomorrow. Thanks.

Thanks for updating this. I'm having the same issue so I'm heading to the dealer soon. Did they charge you anything for the re-flash?
