I just had the windshield replaced in my 2000. Gasket comes on new windshield. Don't know if you can buy separate. The windshield itself is actually glued in. The gasket keeps some water out of the windshield fitment but if yours leaks odds are you will either need to replace windshield or at the very least have some one remove and reglue it.

If you have never pulled a windshield before there is a 90% chance you will break it. I only paid about $100 for a new one at a local glass shop installed.

The reason its cheap is the jeeps was made in the usa and a ton of them still on the roads.

The gasket that we actually see on the windshield is not the actual gasket that keeps water outside of the cabin.

The windshield is glued to the body, and that is where the actual sealing is happening, if your windshield is allowing water to go in, then it is either the glue not sealing properly or the frame rusted through.

The outside gasket keeps some water and dust out, but it is most for the windshield frame joint to look good.

The procedure I have seen in the past is to remove the windshield (the let you know in advance that they will do their best not to break the windshield, but there is a possibility that it happen), clean everything good, and reglue the windshield
