Default 2000 Cherokee Sport: Tail/Brake lights not working

I've checked all fuses, bulbs and sockets, with no luck.

hmm..not sure if there is a relay in the circuit or not. That could have failed;relay contacts stuck...as always, a diagram would be helpful, trace voltage from the source, see where you lose it...sorry I could not be more helpful

Found and corrected the issues. There were broken wires in the harness that goes through the top of the lift gate. Specifically, the high center stop light and the license plate light were shorting against the body. This kept blowing fuses 7 & 23. Also, had to replace the stop light switch and the combination sig/hazard flasher. Everything is up and running.

Thanks to all for the recommendations.
