2000 Cherokee Overheating Still

Mine did the same thing on the highway. Its probably the Mech. fan clutch. What happens is during highway driving the air forced in will be blocked because the mech fan will not spin or wont spin quickly. At idle the fan will probably spin though. Its like 30 bucks to replace.
With your engine off an key out of the ignition ( just in case someone wants to listen to the radio) pop the hood and spin the mech. Fan if it spins easy with no effort or resistants it's bad. If it has resistance it's good an your seearch will continue. Good luck
