Default $200 Supercharger

Has anyone seen, heard of, or used this. It seems a little sketchy to me.

LOL well i dont think that would acually work well mainly because the motor is in the way of air flow and its been tryed and they dont work well.. belt driven supercharger better... now if you want to get crazy here is a idea for ya.... get one of these.. and use it.. for a supercharger ...

It's beyond sketchy.

In theory, you might pick up 5HP, but in practice, electric superchargers just don't work.

Yea it might work to cram more air into the intake but the injecters can only push so much fuel into the system. I wouldn't chance it.

There's no reason stock injectors wouldn't hold an effective 2psi. They get that much just by changes in elevation.

If these electric jobs actually put out any more boost than that, they'd be making more power than even what they advertise.

Doesn't really surprise me, people seem to be easily suckered by unsubstantiated claims of increased performance and/or mpg.

Think of all the useless performance "chips" on EBAY. Most are useless. But the sellers don't seem to be hurting for business.

When that electric motor flies apart, where do you think all of the metal parts go? Right into the intake manifold and into the cylinders.

Saw an article on these a while back they actually restrict air flow and you end up loosing power.

LOL OMG I would LOVE to see an XJ with a bloody leaf blower as a supercharger!! Talk about being king of the Homebrew! You'd have bragging rights forever if it worked. HAH, you could even use the blower wand as the main part of a snorkel if you wanted!
