Default 2 issiues I need help with...

Hey all,
I have 2 things with my Cherokee I would like to remedy, It's hunting season in my area and where I hunt I have to do a lot of driving to get there on woods roads, first when I open the driver door on the Jeep that darn buzzer goes off, the only way I can stop it is to remove the key so when the engine's running I can't get it to stop. I tried buckling the seat belt behind me and it still goes off, not good when you're hunting white tail lol,

Second, is there anyway to disable the day time running lights? I tried lifting the E-brake a click but they still come on when you put it in Drive.

If you have any suggestions for either or both (fuses, wire disconnects etc...) please drop me a note.

You guys Rock! Keep up the great work
Thanks,
Mark

open up your door so you can hear the buzz, use your ear to follow that sound down under the wheel where the fuses and relays are (left hand under light puller/pusher thing) I think its a black or blue box, but if you touch each one that sounds like its buzzing, one of them will be vibrating enough to feel. Strong arm it out, cause that annoying *** things doesnt always want to leave

I found and removed the buzzer, here's some pics, 1st the buzzer and in the 2nd pic is the location, it's the white plug port between the green plug and the ACC lettering on the fuse panel under the dash. Hope these pics helps.

Removal was pretty easy, except getting your fingers in behind to release the retaining clip.

I also wanted to add to this,
Since I removed the buzzer which also acts as the "headlights left on" buzzer, my daytime running lights no longer come on (headlights only) so for anyone else removing this annoying little buzzer you may want to check yours as the laws in your area may require daytime running lights.

Just a heads up
Mark

when you say daytime running light do you mean the orange lights under the headlights? First off, I didn't know and I don't think their automatic, Ive never seen a jeep with them on during the day, but if your not talking about them coming on automatically, mine work fine without the buzzer in, I just pull the **** half out and they come on on off no problem.

i just pulled off the button that gets pushed in to make the buzzer go off, cuz i run doorless sometimes and the light will stay on even when the cars running. so i took off the button and no more buzzing and no more lights on when im driving.

its pretty easy to put back. its just a lock nut holding the button on. then it plugs into a harness. if you wanted to sell it would take 5 mins to put back on.

On my 93 XJ the headlights would come on when I put it in drive then stay on until the vehicle was shut off. Now that I pulled the buzzer box out the only time the headlights come on is with the switch, however it could be a Canadian vehicle requirement as daytime running lights are mandatory by law in Canada.

I wasn't sure if that's the case in the US and thought I would mention it I would hate to see anyone get a ticket for something I posted.

Oh yeah it's really easy to re-install a couple mins.

By removing the buzzer I solved both of my problems in this post mainly for hunting season I will probably put it back in as soon as the season is over, that darn buzzer sure gets a whitetails attention lol
