Hey all,

So I bought this 2000 Cherokee with the inline 4 cylinder 2.5L engine about a Month ago. The power steering pully was damaged but functional so the dealership gave me the pully for free to replace on my own. After getting that swapped out; I start the engine to bleed the steering lines and the engine revs to max and stays there. We found a broken throttle return spring which I replaced to no change. A neighbor checked the engine codes and the Throttle Position Sensor reads 14.9 without touching the gas and occasionally fluctuates to 15.3 without anyone touching anything. I just swapped out the TPS and no change. I covered the throttle body intake with my hand and the engine didn't flinch, just maintained the high rev. We haven't found any vacuum leaks.

It's pulling air in from somewhere around the intake manifold. Check our work carefully.
