Default 1999 XJ Front Wheel Stud Removal

New to the forum here. Glad to find it.

I have to replace some front wheel studs on my 1999 XJ with solid rotors. I have heard that some Cherokees (XJ never specifically mentioned) require the hub to be partially pulled out in order to gain clearance to remove/replace the studs. Is this true or will I have enough clearance without doing that?

Thanks for the help.

Pull the rotor off and see if there is enough room for the studs to slide in and out of there. Pound the old one out with a hammer, use an impact wrench (air gun) and a spacer to pull the new stud in.

I replaced the studs on mine recently.. no issue removing the old ones.

For a spacer as mentioned above you can temporarily remove your lower ball joint nut... works perfectly. Face the crown towards hub ad pull it in.
