1999 Jeep Cherokee Limited Oil Pan Removal
I could use a second opinion... I was told by a tech at the place I go to for oil changes that my oil pan gasket needed to be replaced. It does leak so I believe him...They said the motor would have to be raised a little to get the pan out. It is a 1999 limited, so they may have an extra stablizing bar under there, but I don't know... I would like to replace the gasket myself, but don't have the tools or know how to raise the engine.
Anyone have some advice?

xj right?
if so i have a 2000 xj that needed a new gasket ... i needed to drop the front axle and take the starter off as well as the trans insection plate to pull the pan off ...
and mine still leaks after i reinstalled it... it wasnt very much fun without a lift.

u dont raise the engine to change it, you jack it up and let thr front end droop as far as it will go. There is one strike against him working on your jeep since he doesnt know what he is doing
