Default 1999 cluster

Quick question, On a 99 does the mileage stay with the cluster? And if I swap clusters will it have to be programmed? Thanks

I just changed the cluster on my 96. Yes, the milage stays as the odometer is electronic even though mine has regular numbers rather than the green electronic numbers.

I further learned that if you take off the computer and take it to a speciality shop, they can reprogram the odometer.

I just photographed the old and new, noted the date of the change and the VIN number and had the form notorized locally. Our local dealer in Hayesville, NC said he would accept the change.
