1999 cherokee 4.0 push rods

hey is they a safe way to clean them the last 2 i took out had some gunk on them can i spray them down with brake fluid or wd 40 can clean off just not sure

If you're taking them out you can clean them with what ever you want- they're made of metal so most chemicals are not going to effect them. Just dry them off before reinstalling them. I use a pipe cleaner to make sure hole is cleaned out.

I used brake clean and compressed air to blow threw them to make sure they have a clear oil passage. any cleaner should work fine. make sure you can see threw them as this is how your rockers get oil...
