Default 1998 Cherokee Electrical Gremlins

I've just started fixing up my cherokee and i've found that everything electrical in the steering wheel stopped working, CC, air bag, horn. Also, my power locks only work occasionally whether it be from the fob or the door switch. Has anyone else had these problems? im really hoping its not symptom of a wiring harness going bad and its just singular issues. Any help would be outstanding!!

Most of those steering wheels have a clockspring in them to make the electrical connections while still allowing the wheel to turn. When they fail the steering-wheel electronics quits. Not too bad to replace.

Do all your power locks work/not work simultaneously, or just the driver's?

I have a 98 Cherokee that has had issues with the locks in the past. My driver side door has pretty much stopped working. I also have a lot of issues with the window lock. Basically every electrical issue possible I've had, so if you have any more issues I maybe able to help.

When they designed the Jeep Cherokee, they had some of the best structural engineers create a frame that could surmount every obstacle and provide stability off road, they put a good, solid torquey engine to provide towing and offroading ability, and then they had a 4 year old plan the wiring and had chimps install it.

Guess which was AMC Engineering, and which was Chrysler?

Thanks for the steering wheel tip. I'll check that out.
When the door locks quit, its all of them at once and its intermittent. I was poking around and looking for a lock actuator that may have gone bad but i'm not sure. I just want to get all of the small stuff taken care of before i put a lift on it.
