I have a 95 with a inline 6 and it started to randomly die. It seem to do it at speeds below 40 mph. Most of the time it will start right back up. It seems to be getting more frequent. Any help would be appreciated.

The check engine light can blink you two digit codes to help you narrow it down.
Example code 15, 22 etc.
one flash - short pause - 5 flashes(15) long pause 2 flashes short pause 2 flashes (22)

To get the flashes turn the ingnition On-Off-On-Off-On. Have a pencil handy to write them down.

I don't have the list of codes handy so you will have to do a site search.

 

Thanks I will have my son try that. He said he couldn't find the check engine light? Shouldn't it cycle when you turn the key on?

Thanks for the assistance, This is difficult trying to process information second hand. My son called today and said last night he was driving and once again the vehicle just died. he was able to put it in nuetral and resart it. when he went out to go home the car would crank but wouldnt start. Not sure why but they decided to jump start it even though it was cranking. He said when they hooked the cables up it sparked and the postive cable on his car started glowing red. my thought was they hooked the cables up wrong, he swears they were on correctly. the starnge thing is when they disconnected the cables the vehicle started. Thoughts?
