On my 94 xj The gas gauge suddenly quit and also the indicator lights for the water temp and oil pressure don’t come on when I turn the key on before start.
i checked fuse #17 any other suggestions on what would cause all three of these failures?
thanks

Does your generator light work or is that also dead? Speedometer?
Gas, temp, oil, generator and speedo are all powered by Fuse #17 as you have checked. How did you check it? I had a fuse the other day that looked fine but had actually blown.
If the generator light and speedo work, I'd suspect something has gone wrong on the ribbon circuit on the back of the cluster.

You can run a check on the gauges to see if they work right. I think you hold the trip odometer button and turn the key position to on. If they go through the self check, it's not the gauge, if not it's your cluster.
