1992 2WD 2 door 5 speed
Well..I have had this Cherokee 7 years...75 thousand miles of use..now 250k and I have often browsed this forum for info... and with the exception of the internal clutch slave...which I replaced..it has been trouble free.Went with the new ZJ front end steering parts swap..super soft Monroe 33252 front shocks, some moog bushings..coil over monroe rear shocks...Liqui-Moly 10-60 oil with their Ceratec additive..redid the grey interior with black vinyl paint and replaced those flimsy plastic a/c outlets with mid sixties Buick chrome plated steel registers...goes well with the woodgrain dash..and power window/locks are also activated on new retro chrome console. Chromy NOS Motorola AM/FM stereo cassette player replaces that sad digital lump. 4.0 has had the clutch fan excised..c/c has a pipe through it's belly and the thrush turbo does it's job.I will stop here..suffice to say that everything Dino shows done on his website to his stock 4.0 has been done on this 92.Along with serious soundproofing..she rides very smooth and quiet..I get 18-22 mpg and this ride is quite quick...Liqui_moly took care of that valvetrain tick and is a gas to drive.Just a heads up on my DD...I think I will keep her...
Well..this is Shiner Texas...this transplanted German knows that in this mild weather..Liqui -Moly is the ticket.Just got out of seventies this week..The stuff is worth it ...Check out Amazon for the reviews on this oil.

Run stupid expensive oil all you want I want to know why on earth you are running such a thick oil? I wouldn't be suprised if you are starving the bearings of oil at that thickness unless you have no bearings at all.
Well..heck...been running Liqui Moly for 75,000 miles...no problems...no ticking...smooth starts..10 weight when it is cold..rare to get below 40 and when it gets to over 100 degrees"common" here 60 weight it works super I do switch over to a lighter weight Liqui -moly in January-March...I should have said such before you got yourself so wound up.I was bemused by your bitter responses....then I saw your location....and I had a good laugh...sad left coast bitter response.Still a free country...say what ya will...
Well..heck...run the Cherokee hard..hot down here 9 monthes ...no fan clutch...oil pressure always above 40...really closer to next mark in winter..but I also worried about start-up oil starvation..but the engine just runs quiet with oil and Ceratec.. 10-40 L/M in winter....and I run it hard.. real hard..fun to tool around on toll road 130..speed limit 85 mph.. and let her go through the gears and shift out of third at 85...This brake is set up for DD hard driving..shifting gears..rev up to 4500 on shifts...when in the mood....oil filter changed every month..yeah..I know a waste...I can see the noses in air...oil change every 3 monthes...new rotors..calipers drums..hardware. handles well...I really enjoy driving this Cherokee hard...6 years of DD sprinting and country road flying about....Yep..do not drive off road ..and this maybe not kosher to most forum members....Oil pressure...ace..my coworkers at the highway dept think I am nuts to drive my Cherokee like a sports car....Oil pressure..? Like a good woman just take the best care of her you can...the rest takes care of itself.Long winded response indeed...but I am passionate about everything I do in life.
