Hey guys,
Looking for some help with my 1991 Jeep Cherokee Limited.
All lights work on vehicle except for high beams. When I’m running my headlights/low beams and I try to turn on my high beams, my headlights turn off. Sidelights stay on but my high and low/headlights are off.
I’m seeing if anyone has had this issue or some advice on where to look.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Have you checked the Dimmer Switch haft way down the steering Colum ?

 

Have you verified that the high beam filaments in the bulb are intact. Often vehicles have the low beams turn off when you turn on the high beams. Could be bulbs. Long shot as usually low beams fail first and only one at a time but hey, easy check.

 

I’m out of town working the next couple days but I’ll check both when I get home, I haven’t looked at the bulbs yet which seems funny since you would think that’s the first thing to look at.
They both failed at the exact same time so it leads me to think it’s something else other than bulbs but I’ll definitely talk a look. I just know that’d be too easy for it to happen to me haha. I did look at all the relays and fuses the other day and they are good. Even a hidden one under the hood near drivers side headlight.

 

I’ll check the dimmer switch as well, I dont remember having a switch on the column but I just from car to car all the time it’s hard to remember what’s where.
