Hey guys, hoping someone here can help me out. Just rebuilt my motor, dropped it back in, can’t get her to start.

Pretty sure I narrowed it down to a spark issue as she won’t even start with starter fluid. I hooked a spark tester up to the coil and I’m getting an intermittent orange spark. Replaced CPS, swapped relays on ASD relay, cleaned grounds. Tried just about everything that I’ve read on this forum as well as others.

when using starter fluid she does try and start when the coil does send a orange spark, but it’s not consistent enough to run.

Make sure you didn't pinch any harnesses dropping it back in. Double check your distributor indexing, it's easy to set it 180 out. Make sure you have the firing order correct.

Intermittent orange spark could be caused by a weak/failing ignition coil itself. You should have a strong, snapping BLUE spark.

The coil can be tested for both primary and secondary resistances with a meter and a manual.
