Well I went on a road trip to Reading (about 60 miles away) to get a Cherokee front nose for mine off of craigslist. I decided the bald tires were not going to be a good choice, especially since they are going out of round and shake above 50mph. I put on my 40 dollar craigslist alloys w/old michelins.

Here is a picture from last week (Did the HT leads and the plugs)

Picture of the old tires... trust me this is their "good" side, there is other parts showing cords and belts.

I didn't take a picture but the front brakes were installed by an amateur, I removed them and lubricated the pads and caliper slides and they move nice and freely, the rotors are not pretty but I will use them until I save up the money to do the hub bearings, maybe the outer u joints.

The rear brakes are decent, but the leaf springs are shot.

Front nose piece $35.

Only the grill was swapped for now, both headlights are Sylvania Performance sealed beam (what I am currently using) which will go in the closet for spares, the turn signals will be used on the driver side where my lens screw hole was broken and I had to use epoxy to glue it together. Not sure if I can make the chrome trim work on my header panel, but if it I can't I can always paint this one.

And then on my drive home, 80 miles into the 120 mile round trip, it starts to overheat..... AGAIN! I turned the heater on full blast defrost. It took a while but it slowly went back down to normal and was okay, I turned the heater off and it started to climb again. I drove it a few times since then and its acting normal. I am almost positive I need a radiator, autozone 100 buck special it is.

I like the autozone warranty but I plan to rebuild my all metal radiator to re-use at a later date. I found the identical autozone radiator for 75 shipped (No taxes either).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Radiator-Ready-Rad-432335-fits-91-01-Jeep-Cherokee-/111241679200?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19e6855160&vxp=mtr

I also got in my grease fittings and CPS sensor, I only paid $10.50 shipped and I am very happy with the quality. Probably going to buy another one just to have a cheap spare. It says on the box it is made in Canyon, Texas.

If you have a 1991 to 1992 I highly recommend this crank sensor http://www.ebay.com/itm/161205647177...S:1123&vxp=mtr

I replaced mine today, works great. I asked the seller, he has 5 more that ebay doesn't show. I am buying a spare because it is not made in china or mexico.

I also rewired my stock ignition coil harness with male/female connectors so that I can reconnect the factory coil very quickly if the msd blaster I added fails (It was a spare from a Mustang I had a while back).

I used the stock ford style coil holder, bolted under the a/c compressor bolt.

Replaced the fuel pump. Still had intermittent starting problems, replaced the fuel pump. Thought I had it fixed, 3 days later it did it again. Replaced the fuel pressure regulator and no trouble until the Airtext/Delphi wires shorted. Repaired those and it has been great.

Off roading I've so far killed 3 P215-75R15's. I got 2 P235's from a friend for free and matched them with my junkyard P235 bfg long trail (almost new) I got for $60.

I am getting ready for winter, My Jeep runs good currently but I need to change the castrol high mileage 10w30. I am putting the jeep "snake oil" in it, Rotella T6 with a wix xp filter. I decided to add a cap/rotor/ oil pressure sending unit to the order because they shipped together for 32 bucks total. My pressure drops to zero when warmed up but the sending unit is very old from a junkyard jeep so maybe I'm getting a false reading. I scrapped my cap and rotor a few thousand miles ago but I figured I might as well put new stuff on it and save the old parts for a spare.

1991 JEEP CHEROKEE 4.0L L6

AIRTEX / WELLS 3G9 Oil Pressure Sender / Switch $ 9.77
AIRTEX / WELLS 2A3 Distributor Cap $ 5.56
AIRTEX / WELLS 2A4 Distributor Rotor $ 1.67
WIX 51085XP Oil Filter $ 7.43

^^^ Fresh oil change 261700. Rotella T6/Wix XP. I also did the oil pressure sending unit and my gauge is showing excellent oil pressure all the time, I changed the power steering hose and no more leaks from it now. I also did the cap and rotor.

Next thing on my list is junkyard neon injector upgrade. I would like a 99+ intake manifold but that will have to wait until I get a new exhaust manifold/downpipe (I want to do everything at once). I also need to find 2 or 4 matching P235-75R15's before the winter.

Skip the Neon injectors and get volvo 746s from Programbo here on CF.

Will do in the future!

I bought a new radiator from advanced auto parts $93.00 including tax with discount.

I also bought a harbor freight 90 amp flux welder to attempt to repair all my rust/lack of floor boards.

Updates coming soon!

Out with the old and in with the new!

I thought my original radiator (all metal Chrysler stamped) was a dual core from the view up top, but it was a single core. I also had to replace the rockauto thermostat, its running perfect temperatures now! Finally!

And I've got about $4-5.00 in scrap from the old radiator!
