Angry 1990 RENIX XJ Spudders/Stalls.

[SOLVED!]
Spudders off of idle. Seems like it’s running out of gas but when RPMS are up around 3-5000 runs fine in park/neutral. Has no power in gear, can’t climb slightest incline. Seems like it randomly runs rough. Sometimes it runs ok for a minute then starts to sputter? Filled tank with 4 gallons premium, changed spark plugs/cap/rotor. Battery was dead and I used a suspect charger to charge battery. Running like crap now. ECU damaged? It has a relatively newish fuel pump/filter? Stuck at the bottom of my steep driveway! Eh! About 140,000 miles on factory replaced engine. Has been overheating too. Manifold/head gasket leak? Oil/water looks ok? Any ideas folks? I can usually rev out of the spudder, but only in park/neutral? Bogs out in gear? Thanks!

Test your fuel pressure first with a gauge. There are a lot of junk replacement fuel pumps out there.

What fuel pump did you put in it?

I had one that was no good brand new out of the box from a O'Reilly. I had, and many others have had great luck with the Bosch.

The fuel line had partially disconnected from the pump inside the tank! Guess I didn’t tighten the clamp enough when i changed it last, on the side of the road!LoL!
