cruiser54, you may be agree or not but in fact some data holds in renix ecu.
if you build you own scanner - you able to prove yourself.

there are many info but nobody except Chrysler have full 33 -byte description , in program used only 11 byte that reverse - engineered by Konstantin.

By the symptoms it sounds like it has a vacuum leak.

Do a smoke test.

Doesn't anyone speak/write English anymore?

Cruiser is right - the computer on a Renix looses all it's memory every time the key is shut off. It's a crude system left over from Rambler.

If it was helpful in fixing our Jeeps, I might be interested.
By the way, I have a DRB and worked on Renix Jeeps since their inception before diagnostic readout boxes existed. I was service Manager/Shop Foreman for 12 years at a 5-Star Chrysler dealership with the highrest Customer Satisfaction Index in the Southwest. How we did it without algorithms and software and building our own equipment is beyond me. Must have been a miracle..

And the biggest miracle is that I was savvy enough to document our tips and tricks, most of which came from JeepTech, in a little pocket notebook for future reference. Not saved on a disc or thumbdrive!!

An even bigger miracle is that I was able to take that info this many years later and turn it into write-ups to help the current owners of those Jeeps. This, I did in MS Word.

I do not said that you can't diagnose and fix renix issues. I able to do it too ( everyone may do it) with analod multimeter and osciloscope. But some aspects of engine operating might been diagnose only with native drb scanner or with tools and software . For example "slow" but functional o2 sensor etc...

also scanners are easiest way of diagnose electronic, but not electrical issues

Yes, some can. I can do both. But, it's not necessary to go into the realm you suggested to the original poster and sidetrack him with mumbo jumbo.
