It runs now I replaced the fuel pump harness and it seems to be good now. Not saying its perfect but I will find out soon enough. Thank you for all the great info. Hey guys so my cherokee has been running great until a couple days ago. When I accelerate there's a loud whining sound and it rumbles. Any suggestions?

If it cranks but won't start, check the ignition coil resistor. It's a white rectangular ceramic block mounted on the inside of the driver side fender. This was a common problem on older vehicles.

 

Hate to burst your bubble, but that's a fuel pump ballast resistor. It's there only to reduce the voltage to the fuel pump in the Run position.

 

I had this problem twice with my first Cherokee which was a 93 Sport. It turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor both times except the second time it also blew out a fuse. Don't remember the fuse location, but believe it was one of the small ones in the fuse panel under the hood. Hope this helps.
