Default 1990 Cherokee no start help!!!!!!

I bought a 1990 jeep cherokee today and now it wont start. The thing had been setting since nov. and battery was dead so i jumped it with my truck and it started after a few cranks. I decided I liked it so I went to the ATM and got some cash out to pay for it. Well when I got back it would not start. It was low on fuel so I went and got some gas and put in it no start. I ended up pulling it home and started messing with it. It has no fire at plug or coil. So I test to see if it had power even going to the coil and it did when i pluged the weather pack plug in back in and tried to start and it did ran for about 5-10 seconds and died. I unpluged it again and tried to start it and it did then died after 5-10 seconds.

So what do you guys think? crank senor?

Sorry for the long story thanks for looking!

Really where did you get that weatherpack connector?

Probably wouldn't hurt to do a tune up on it as well but the weather pack seems the way to go. If it's so varible as to only run 10 secs or less then your ignition system is grounding out somewhere

I messed with it some more and got it to run. I have started it a few times after that with no problems. I'm going to replace it anyhow so it dont happen on the trail.

Thanks for the replys!
