Yes, cps completely disconnected and multi meter probing both wires.

That's the correct way.

Threw in another cps just for kicks. Now there's no voltage whatsoever.

Took that one out, and ohms tested all 3 of them (the new one, one from a junkyard jeep that had transmission problems and the one that came with the jeep) and the results are as follows:

New one: .20
Original one: .22
Junkyard: .23

Also, i'm getting fuel at the rail but it is not being injected into the cylinders. Is there a way to bypass the asd system? I'm going to try buying a cps from NAPA tomorrow as opposed to Advance.

My CPS puts out that measly 0.23V as well and it runs ok. It is low in comparison to other posts with the "factory" CPS. I think they are posting 0.4V. If you have fuel pressure, the ECU is controlling whether to fire the injectors based on the CPS and other sensors. It won't fire if the CPS is unplugged.

How do you know you have no spark? Did you pull a plug, leave a wire attached and ground the plug to see if there's a spark? Does it "catch" or sound like it's trying to run?

Well first off, the .23 came from a resistance test, not a voltage test. I have swapped out 3 different cps's out of this thing and believe me, they were all plugged in lol. I have had a wire unplugged and spark plug grounded since the day i got the thing, that's how i know how. It just cranks and cranks and cranks, no catch whatsoever. I have tried 2 different ecu's along with 2 different distributors and ignition coils/modules. Nothing.

Did you ever check to see if there were 2 CPS connectors in the harness?

You might be plugged into the old one that was left there when a CPS upgrade was done.
They were supposed to clip them off....

FWIW, the CPS resistance test is pretty worthless.

Yes, i checked and there is only 1 connector. I also took my multimeter and checked for resistance between those wires and the ecm, and there is no resistance. Additionally, i bought a 4th cps from napa yesterday and hooked it up. Still no dice. At this point my meter is no longer reading any a/c voltage from any of the cps's i have installed. This is more than likely due to the fact that i rigged one of the probes because the wire broke. I am on my way to get a new meter right now and will post results when i get back. Also, when i got the jeep it had no dust cover on the cps like it's supposed to. Will that effect the reading?

Don't need a dust cover.

Well then the only thing left would be the pickup coil I guess? It only makes sense. Has anyone successfully ran their jeep without one plugged in?

It also appears that the previous owner put the wrong GROUND BOLT in on the DIPSTICK TUBE, resulting in LOOSE GROUNDS. On my way out to the hardware store right now to fix this joke. I did test my new cps with my new mutimeter though, still no voltage.

There is no pickup coil.

Fix the grounds. Read Tip 1.

Turns out, the loose grounds weren't the issue. When the previous owner redid the grounds, he made a crappy attempt at crimping the cables and they ended up being completely disconnected inside of the electrical tape. Fixed that, and she woke right up. Sounds like a beast.

Hey which ground wires were loose? I'm the post thread above you and read your's. It was like reading my own biography. Exact same problems. 2 distributors, 2 icms, 2 coils, 2 cps, cleaned the grounds and re wires at the dip stick...and firewall.

It was the ones at the dipstick tube. Shake the wires and make sure there is continuity between the grounding bolt and wherever they go to. Quick question- when you turn your key, do you hear rapid clicking from the relays?
