Default 1990 4.0 radiator options?

Hey guys ,
So yesterday my radiator cracked after my blower motor fuse blew, it was about 110 * outside and I shut it down before it got to the red ... I've redone the entire cooling system....
Radiator was in good shape I thought ??
Don't know what caused it to crack ?
Maybe because it was plastic don't know!?

Has anyone ever purchased one of these 3 core aluminum rad off EBay?

Better of with a good quality original style replacement. The aluminum stuff is really just for show on xj's. It would be different if you were building a hot rod or a big truck and you had a lot of room. When you shove that thing back in its spot I don't think you gain anything. Plus they seem prone to cracks and leaks, the plastic ones seem to hold up pretty good. Good catch shutting down before it overheated.

I do have the closed system, and I was just trying to avoid going with one that has plastic on the ends.
Also I am in the process of putting a 3" zone lift
So my budget is being depleted very quickly lol..
Wish I new why this thing cracked the way it did?
Passenger side has a good 5" split.

Should I just go for a mopar /oe style??
What are some more recommendations?

That's what I'm saying. I have swapped the radiator once in 20 years. So it was like 15 years on the first one, second is still going fine. Regular old stock radiator.

as stated above .. 3 core just isn't worth it in an XJ.

Hey guys this is my rad I pulled from my 1990 xj4.0
Can someone tell if it's a 1 row/core?? How do you tell?
Would a two core rad be wider?

Yes. Replacing it with a good original equipment style will fit back no issues. If you want to spend a bunch of money then you can get a flexalite with all electric fans. Almost 900 dollars. Sweet looking but probably overkill.

Looks like a two core aluminum with plastic tanks. That was most common on models with the tow package.

I'd like to find this same replacement rad .
I found a two core all aluminum, And Autozone don't carry a two core.
I found a Champion on eBay $177.97 two row
any experience with this particular radiator?

in all honesty buy a 2 or 3 core isn't going to help much if any over an OE replacement.. MANY guys including mods run the rad from autozone because it's a good product and good price. You have our opinions.
